Lawrence has had a passion for squash since selection in 1969 for Canterbury Junior Team which progressed over the decades to Senior team, and now Canterbury Masters team and NZ Masters teams. He has played nearly 50 years of interclub. During this period served as an administrator, as secretary of HSOB club, President Canterbury Squash and selector/senior Administrator for approx. 30 years. He has been self-employed for last 26 years focused on wool brokering and now keen to develop aspects of squash administration made possible by his election to the Board in 2016. His intention is to provide a better service to the shareholders i.e. players within the Canterbury District from promotion of the sport, membership and in particular maintaining and strengthening our achievements on the squash court via representative teams at National and Quad events.
