Squash Canterbury Awards

2019 Junior Boy Squash Player of the Year (Growcott Cup)

Winner – Henry Aitken (Waimea)

2nd – Paul Moran (Marlborough SR)

3rd – Caelum Betteridge (Hoon Hay)

The top three was very hard to name and a noticeable mention must go to Ryan Ko, who had some very good achievements this year too, including runner-up in the NZ U15 Individual Championships and being selected to represent NZ in the Secondary School Trans-Tasmin.

1st – Henry Aitken (Waimea)

Henry was very consistent performer throughout the year winning 70% of his matches. His technique and maturity on court put him in good stead to perform well in 2019 and as he gets more experience and develops his game, he could well become one of Canterbury's top players in the near future. This year’s winner was the standout winner taking out the Canterbury U23 whilst still as a junior and was No.1 in the Canterbury Junior Team as well as being the top ranked Junior.

2nd - Paul Moran (Marlborough SR)

Paul’s notable recent achievement was being accepted into the NZ Elite Squad.

3rd - Caelum Betteridge (Hoon Hay)

Caelum’s achievements include representing Canterbury at the NZ Junior Teams Event, runner up in the prestigious Canterbury Junior Open and winning the Canterbury U19 Individual Championships.
