Di McCoy - Junior Squash Development Officer (Christchurch)

The purpose of Di’s role is to foster the growth and development of junior squash in Christchurch through increasing participation.

Di started playing squash in 1998 in Western Australia in a remote Gold Mine to help fill in time between shifts and she has loved the game ever since!  She is currently a member of Christchurch Squash Club and regularly plays in the women’s interclub competition on as Tuesday night. 

‘The future of this wonderful game begins with our junior players. I will do my best to support our clubs in creating sustainable programmes and pathways to grow and develop junior participation. I am excited to be able to promote this wonderful game to the schools and establish strong pathways to our clubs; maximising exposure to coaching and either social or competitive squash. I am also motivated through my love of the game to increase participation by working with the existing junior players and their parents, who are essential for the success of the sport, to make our current junior interclub and the junior tournament schedule the best it can be; by ensuring competitive games are available to all who enter, at a beginner level or as a developing junior player’ Di McCoy, Junior Squash Development Officer, Christchurch
