In term 1, 13 students from Cathedral Grammar opted into a 5 week Squash Program, ran by Squash Canterbury based at their local courts, Christchurch Squash Club.
These lucky students were supported weekly by Emma Cormack and Kiriana Andrew, ensuring the students experience was a fun and positive one.
It has been reported that students returned to school absolutely buzzing with excitement following their weekly sessions, which encouraged the school to offer 51 year 7 & 8 students two introduction to Squash sessions also during the Term.
A massive thankyou to Emma, Kiriana, Grace Hymers, Trisha Roughan-Smith, and Greg Atkins for enabling this programme to happen. We are aware of new memberships both a family and junior membership being started at Mt Pleasant and Christchurch Squash Club as a result of this programme.
Sports Canterbury have put together a story around the success of this programme which we will share once this is complete.
