End of an era for Interclub

Well team, its end of an era as this week the last interclub games are to be played at Squashways and the Christchurch club; Squashways closes down the end of July and Christchurch move into their new facilities at the Cashmere Club, both buildings are set for demolition. So I know it’s going to be a tough time for those of you playing at those clubs but hold back the tears as there is still some squash to be played. There are 7 finals going on tomorrow and plenty of people who will be playing there for last time for the Cashmere and Squashways club as many will likely become members of Christchurch SC.

In Division 2, there will be a top of the table clash between Burnside 3 and Squashways 3 for the division title; Burnside 3 is currently top of the table on 110 points followed by Squashways on 99. Now I don’t know about you but it’s great to see a Burnside team have some good success after their Men’s Open grade teams struggled to. None the less it would be great to see Squashways go out on top in yet another grade. Squashways doesn’t have another team a final but it is great to see the variety of clubs in the finals.

Here’s a look at the Divisions 3 – 8 finals as the following teams will battle it out to win their division titles;

  • Division 3 Christchurch 3 v Football 4 @ Squashways
  • Division 4 Football 5 v Oxford 1 @ Burnside SC
  • Division 5 Rangiora 1 v Cashmere 2 @Rangiora
  • Division 6 Malvern 2 v Burnside 7 @Christchurch
  • Division 7 Burnside 9 v Linwood Bulls @ Squash HQ
  • Division 8 Burnside 10 v Rangiora 5 @ Sumner
