This Friday/Saturday at the Christchurch Squash Club, 50 Colombo St, the club is holding the Senior National Inter-District Teams event. This event features the cream of New Zealand squash playing for their province to secure bragging rights for top team for 2019. The event this year has attracted 9 teams from 9 Provinces each featuring a Men's and Women's team with Canterbury selections as follows;

Canterbury Women’s team is seeded 6th and play first up on Friday 3.30pm against Wellington 7th seed so expect a close encounter then play at 7pm against Top Seed Waikato
Canterbury Men’s team seeded 3rd play first up Friday at midday against Central 9th seed then later on at 7pm against Bay of Plenty who are 4th seed so again a close encounter expected
On Saturday both teams will play 2 rounds depending on the outcome of Fridays results at either of the following times 9am/midday or 4pm so come on Canterbury squashies come on down and support the teams. The finals on Saturday will be played at 4pm i.e. 1st/2nd.
The Canterbury men’s team have won this event twice in last 5 years and the women have won it at least 2/3 times in the past so home territory and home crowd hopefully something magical can be produced be there
